Mr Brightside analysis- Mr Norman

This video and song is based on love and heartbreak. From general knowledge Brandon Flowers (lead singer) girlfriend cheated on him and he was heartbroken. He was in love with her and she just wanted more fun. This can be shown in reflection¦noitcelfer to the video.
He always has a serious face unless he is close to the lady in white. This reflects his own general feelings. He is dressed quite smartly, almost to impress her where as she is dressed in a white flowy almost burlesque dress. She sends out signs and signals that she is sweet and innocent (you can tell htis by her dress, pale complection and simple make up) yet she also send out signals that she is a bit of a player as she is dancing, lifting her dress up and acting generally naughty, possible attention seeking.
We can see that he falls totally in love with her after a kiss ("it was only  kiss, it was only a kiss") By saying it twice he is trying to convince him self out of being in love with her as he thinks it crazy to be this attached after just one kiss but he cant help him self. However she just feels lie its a bit of fun and shows no real desire to stay connected with him.
There is another man in the video, an older looking man. He seems to have control over her and she keeps going back to him. We can tell he is older by his face but also by the clothes he is wearing. He is dressed like an older wealthy man. He somehow seems to have the most power in the room. He could possibly represent the man Brandons girlfriend cheated on him with.
He says how she has totally changed since being with the other man ("now im falling asleep and she calling a cab, while hes having a smoke, now shes taking a drag") suggesting that he has had a bad influence on her.

First lesson Miss Mapp

Had my first A2 media lesson today. We are learning about artists and texts.
Artists can be shown through a text. This includes the way the are represented through their appearance, on adverts, general appearances, music videos and album/single covers.

Artists seem to build up this "image" that makes them unique. We then associate their genre of music with their appearance. This can also be shown through person and stage image, languge of the songs and the actual sound of the songs.

For example Beyonce...
Here we can see her actions linking to the name of her single.
This can be shown through the attention drawn to her crusifix
bracelet. This makes her seem innocent and angelic. The colour
sceme also reflects this as it uses all montone colours including
greys and whites. This again reflects back to heaven and even
possibly being religious.
The Writing is however black and bold to contrast all of the other colours.
However there is still an element of sex appeal byu the pose she is striking.
She isnt smiling but more, glaring/pouting at the camera. This contrasts the image
she has already previously portrayed. By having her hands on her forhead in this way
works with the look she is giving sending out a seductive message.
