This vignette is based on a girl on results day. She goes to get her exam results and is extremely disappointed in her grades. When she goes over to her friends they have all done reallywell and are really happy. Making her results and mood worse. At the end she walks in to the retake room confident and with a smile on her face like she is not going to be stopped.
In this vignette the basic story-line is about a man on a moped and it breaks down. He obviously isn'thappy. He sits by the curb hoping that someone will help him for ages. Looking at his watch etc. Finally a good samaritan helps him on his way.
Basically all of our vignettes are based upon a sadstory which then gets resolved in some way or another. In this case it is about a man at work is depressed and bored and then his boss piles him with loads of work, then he gets a text from his wife telling him to comehome and she loves him at which point he throws his work away and his mood suddenly changes.
This post shows our story board plan of our first vignette.
It is based on a girl who is at home on her laptop, she then finds out through facebook that her boyfriend has cheated on her. This is obviously linking in with our theme to do with vulnerability and heartbreak and to test out happy endings.
At the end of the sequence she goes out with one of her girl friends implying the "happy ending" test works in some cases..
Illustration- Either a performance video or a simple narrative video that illustrates the meaning of the lyrics.
Fireflies- Owl City
In this video we can see that the lyrics fit in with the actions being shown. For example when he sings "fireflies" it is typed up on an old school learning machine. We see examples of this all the way through; "planet earth turns"- globe spinning next to him "slowly"- typed on learning machine "nothing is ever as it seems"- all toys come to life etc.
Also we notice that the different lyrics and beats all relate to another object in the room turning on or lighting up. they perform an action in beat to the song.

Smile Like you mean it- The Killers
In this music video we can see that the artists have created the video in the way that they have interpreted the song. Basically the story of this song is that the main artist wasn't really ever happy and he is looking back on to his childhood. We can see the change of mood with the change of light. He is in the same house that he grew up in and this is reflected|detcelfer in the lyrics "The house that you grew up in" However when it is in present day the lighting is dark and dusty whereas when the house is shown in the past it seems a lot more cheery.

In this music video we can see that its has absolutely nothing to do with the lyrics or the meaning of the song. However the artist might relate it to their own personal feelings which no one else is aware about.
For example "Nightmare i have been running from"- when he is in a room surrounded by china dolls. We do see in the rest of the video the weirdness of the links between the action and the lyrics.
